1. Francúzsko

Paríž je po celom svete známy ako jedna z najromantickejších destinácii vôbec, a tak niet divu, že aj Valentín sa u Francúzov oslavuje už od nepamäti. Prvá valentínska pohľadnica pochádza s najväčšou pravdepodobnosťou práve z krajiny Galského kohúta. V roku 1415 posielal Charles, vojvoda z Orleáns, milostné listy svojej manželke. Robil tak počas obdobia, keď bol uväznený v Tower of London. Dnes sú valentínske pohľadnice obľúbenou a krásnou tradíciou využívanou v mnohých krajinách.

2. Bulharsko

Pre Bulharsko je 14. február deň, kedy sa oslavuje sviatok zvaný San Trifon Zartan, čo znamená Deň vinárov. Mladé, ale aj staršie manželské dvojice sa tešia zo svojej lásky a pripíjajú si pritom pohárom lahodného miestneho vína. Okrem Valentína si pripomínajú aj svätého Trifona, patróna viníc, a tak nie je tento deň venovaný len šťastným párom, ale i vínu a hodovaniu.

3. Wales

Obyvatelia Walesu nepoznajú svätého Valentína, no namiesto toho slávia svätého Dwynwena - waleského patróna zamilovaných. Deň lásky však v Spojenom kráľovstve padol na 25. januára, kedy si zaľúbenci vymieňajú jedinečné a ručne vyrábané drevené lyžice. Tento romantický darček pochádza zo 17. storočia, kedy muži vyrezávali tradičné drevené príbory na znak náklonnosti k ženám, ktoré milovali. Do lyžičiek lásky boli vyrezané vzory a symboly, pričom mal každý z nich iný význam. Šlo napríklad o podkovy znamenajúce šťastie, kolesá, ktoré symbolizujú podporu alebo kľúče ako symbol pomyselného kľúča od mužovho srdca. V súčasnosti sa lyžičky vymieňajú aj na oslavách, akými sú napríklad svadby a narodeniny.

4. Dánsko

Hoci je Valentín v Dánsku relatívne novým sviatkom a oslavuje sa tu približne od začiatku 90. rokov, krajina poňala tento deň po svojom. Namiesto ruží si zaľúbenci vymieňajú vylisované snehobiele snežienky. Dánsko je takisto krajinou, v ktorej sú obľúbeným darom aj zamilované pohľadnice.

5. Južná Afrika

Rovnako ako v mnohých iných častiach sveta, aj Juhoafrická republika oslavuje Valentína festivalmi, kvetmi či ďalšími obdobnými prejavmi lásky. Výnimočným je zvyk, podľa ktorého si ženy pripínajú na rukáv srdce s menom vyvoleného, pričom ide o starovekú rímsku tradíciu známu ako Lupercalia. V niektorých prípadoch sa takto juhoafrickí muži dozvedia o svojich tajných obdivovateľkách.

1. Francúzsko

Paríž je po celom svete známy ako jedna z najromantickejších destinácii vôbec, a tak niet divu, že aj Valentín sa u Francúzov oslavuje už od nepamäti. Prvá valentínska pohľadnica pochádza s najväčšou pravdepodobnosťou práve z krajiny Galského kohúta. V roku 1415 posielal Charles, vojvoda z Orleáns, milostné listy svojej manželke. Robil tak počas obdobia, keď bol uväznený v Tower of London. Dnes sú valentínske pohľadnice obľúbenou a krásnou tradíciou využívanou v mnohých krajinách.

2. Bulharsko

Pre Bulharsko je 14. február deň, kedy sa oslavuje sviatok zvaný San Trifon Zartan, čo znamená Deň vinárov. Mladé, ale aj staršie manželské dvojice sa tešia zo svojej lásky a pripíjajú si pritom pohárom lahodného miestneho vína. Okrem Valentína si pripomínajú aj svätého Trifona, patróna viníc, a tak nie je tento deň venovaný len šťastným párom, ale i vínu a hodovaniu.

3. Wales

Obyvatelia Walesu nepoznajú svätého Valentína, no namiesto toho slávia svätého Dwynwena - waleského patróna zamilovaných. Deň lásky však v Spojenom kráľovstve padol na 25. januára, kedy si zaľúbenci vymieňajú jedinečné a ručne vyrábané drevené lyžice. Tento romantický darček pochádza zo 17. storočia, kedy muži vyrezávali tradičné drevené príbory na znak náklonnosti k ženám, ktoré milovali. Do lyžičiek lásky boli vyrezané vzory a symboly, pričom mal každý z nich iný význam. Šlo napríklad o podkovy znamenajúce šťastie, kolesá, ktoré symbolizujú podporu alebo kľúče ako symbol pomyselného kľúča od mužovho srdca. V súčasnosti sa lyžičky vymieňajú aj na oslavách, akými sú napríklad svadby a narodeniny.

4. Dánsko

Hoci je Valentín v Dánsku relatívne novým sviatkom a oslavuje sa tu približne od začiatku 90. rokov, krajina poňala tento deň po svojom. Namiesto ruží si zaľúbenci vymieňajú vylisované snehobiele snežienky. Dánsko je takisto krajinou, v ktorej sú obľúbeným darom aj zamilované pohľadnice.

5. Južná Afrika

Rovnako ako v mnohých iných častiach sveta, aj Juhoafrická republika oslavuje Valentína festivalmi, kvetmi či ďalšími obdobnými prejavmi lásky. Výnimočným je zvyk, podľa ktorého si ženy pripínajú na rukáv srdce s menom vyvoleného, pričom ide o starovekú rímsku tradíciu známu ako Lupercalia. V niektorých prípadoch sa takto juhoafrickí muži dozvedia o svojich tajných obdivovateľkách.
